Poules Moules - Tielt

Poules Moules is a small cozy restaurant where you can have tasty mussels and beer and excellent service. The 4 of us ate an excellent meal of mussels and fries—both a must when visiting Bruges—during a rainy day trip from Amsterdam. I can highly recommend mussels with white wine sauce. The fries were thick and crispy and salty! I even got some tasty ketchup (it wasn’t Heinz Ketchup). I had an IPA with my meal and it was a perfect combo. The restaurant is so small, they use a dumbwaiter to deliver food from the kitchen in the lower level. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant! It does close early, so be mindful of the time. We tried to get a table over lunchtime during a downpour of January cold rain and were turned away. They don’t take reservations. We were happy to get a great table a couple of hours later.

I had mussels with white wine they were tender and soft, well cooked. But the flavour was a bit too simple. They came with fries oh how can I describe the flavour? They are nothing like I’ve tried before. Delicious and not oily. The portion was fair and huge, good for one person.

Great experience having mussels and fries for the first time in Belgium. Ordered the mussels with beer which was lovely, although the broth was on the bitter side (due to the beer of course). Excellent customer service and a warm atmosphere in the restaurant.

The food was great! We ordered a vegetarian lasagna, a beef stew and a shrimp croquettes (sorry for them being half eaten but they were tasty). The service was great. One waiter sounded like he could speak every language under the sun and everyone was really friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the place was also nice.

Very nice restaurant, the staff are very friendly. The mussels are a little bit small cause it is not in the season yet but still good though. The soup that we had was also amazing
