Mama's Hummus - Thousand Oaks

I usually only go to places that are 4.5 or above. I cannot believe that this place is a 4.3. I have been to a ton of places like this and they make the best food by far. From chicken Shawarma to their baklava dessert, the food is outstanding. People there are always friendly, and I never have an issue. Try this place, you will not regret it! REAL REVIEW!

I dined in with my girlfriend yesterday. She got the chicken dinner plate for $17.99 and I got the filet mignon dinner plate for $19.99. I upgraded the salads to fattoush salads for $3.00 a plate, which literally just adds a different dressing/seasoning and pita bread croutons. I also got a canned Diet Coke and a bottle of water. Finally I added a $2 tip to make the total come to $54. To add, I had just spent nearly $70 at their Camarillo location with my girlfriend the day before. When I received my food, I only received one tiny container of garlic sauce. I went to the counter and asked the employee for one more sauce, and he has the nerve to tell me it would cost me extra money. I nearly lost my appetite. I could afford to buy an extra sauce, but it is the principal. Apparently their $19.99 filet mignon plate does not come with a side of garlic sauce. First off, it makes no sense that all their plates come with garlic sauce except for their most expensive plate. Second, you should inform your customers that purchase your filet mignon plate that it does not come with garlic sauce. Third, a customer spending $54 on two people should get an extra garlic sauce free of charge to begin with. When I told the employee that I had just spent $54 for two people, he looked at me in silence. Now you lost a great paying customer because you could not give out one small container of garlic sauce that doesn't even cost you a quarter.

I had the chicken schwarma wrap and it was delicious. The mix of ingredients creates a nice balance of flavor and the staff was very friendly!

Food is solidly good, but the price relative to the quality and proportion is quite a bit out of whack. (Be doubly careful if ordering online, the already high prices (relative to the portion sizes get even higher then. If the food was properly priced this place could be tops for fast food.

Outside dining is nice, but it smells funny. Food is not mind-blowingly delicious. I guess the sticker shock on the price, is just a bit more than I want to swallow. Baba ganoush burnt. Not worth the money.
