Bidra med feedbackThere seems to be a temporary issue with the quality of the food at this restaurant. The usual Falafel Plate salad and fries did not meet our expectations this time. The salad was mostly wilted lettuce with few other ingredients, and the falafels were dry. The charcoal broiled Chicken Hearts were tasty but the portion size was small. The price increase did not justify the lack of value. Hopefully, this was just a one-time issue.
After 30+ years this place has stood the test of time. Still to this day one of the best middle eastern restaurants in Toronto and York region. The family that runs it knows the true spice and flavours that make it authentic. I have been coming here from day one as a kid for falafel. From the mini grocery shop filled with Israeli and Lebanese products. To the takeout bar for a quick bite to the full sit down restaurant this family operation puts a lot of smiles on people’s faces. If you haven’t tried the food yet, or it’s been a while I highly recommend this place.
My partner has been coming here for close to 20 years and raves about the place – both the restaurant and the mini market. We have eaten in the restaurant with all its aromas, but we mostly order take out. The falafels are really one of the best around, fresh and tasty actually, I have not tasted better. Our usual is the lentil soup, falafels, hummus, fries and a bag of freshly baked pitas All I can say is, it is consistently tasty, generously portioned and freshly made to order. There has been a recent price increase but it is still good value. Enjoy.
The vegan lentil soup is a standout dish with a refreshing squeeze of lemon on top. Pair it with a platter of dips and pita for the table, and you have a satisfying meal for the whole family at an affordable price. The other salads are also made with fresh ingredients and tangy dressings. We have yet to try their traditional entrees, but the friendly and laid-back atmosphere makes it perfect for dining with loved ones. Additionally, there is a convenient market next door offering a variety of Middle Eastern prepared foods and ingredients.
Sababa has been one of our standards for more than 2 decades. It still is. The Lentil Soup was delicious, as were the Foule Mudammas. The Chicken Dinner was large and the Beef Skewer tender and tasty. Service was slow.
