If it was posted on the front door, then I missed it. Running to Pat 's for cash was not a big deal but it just seemed strange to be a business and not take cards. Pass the expense on to the end user. Who carries cash anymore?
Near the hotel, stopped in a couple of times to get donuts. Tried to get back before they closed to get a late lunch. Made it once, great pasties. When we go back up we will stop there for sure.
Have seen reviews about how good pasties are at Connie's. Have tried three times in our travelling to the UP and have yet to get one. Horrible hours...M-F 8-6 pm. First trip you were out of pasties shortly after opening. Guess we'll never know if they're any good.
We bought pasties for our last night in the U.P. They were packed with filling and very good! We had never had them before so this was a great place to try them from.
They specialize in pasties. And it shows. This is the best pasty in town IMO by far. If you get lucky and pop in on green pepper pasty day prepare your mouth for a real treat like nothing it has experienced before. I have never tried the pastries so I have no opinion one way or the other but customers seemed quite happy so they must also be good. It can pay to call ahead if you want more than 1 or 2 pasties as they seem to sell quick. Check the pasty before you leave though , I have failed to do that a few times and when I arrived home found that the green pepper pasties I ordered where not there instead they were the regular. They get busy so I will give them a pass but that would be my only gripe , check that bag , make sure it is what you ordered. To expect green pepper and then get the regular..I realize it is like ordering platinum and getting gold but still a let down none the less.
