Bidra med feedbackI am a frequent customer and i enjoy their food very much. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Has gone so far downhill since the new owners took over that I will not be going back. Chicken- bland, Guacamole- bland, salsa- watered down, chips- on their way to stale.
I used to order chicken fajita from this place. I would tell them not to give me sour cream and instead substitute it for guacamole. The workers (not the owner) would charge me $0.50 for this substitution (cost of guacamole minus sour cream). Once the owner started taking order things changed. The onwer would never say upfront (while taking the order) that he will charge extra for guacamole. When I would go to pick up my food, the owner would charge me $2.00 extra for guacamole. I would ask him nicely and he would not answer me. One time when I insisted on him telling me why he is charging me $2.00 for guacamole, when his worked would only charge me $0.50, he yelled at me. People all around heard and were surprised by owner’s belligerent behavior. I have stopped visiting this restaurant forever.
My family tried red sombrero for the first time recently. They have a nice selection of tacos, including an authentic-style taco with soft corn tortilla, meat, cilantro, onion, and lime (as well as the 'gringo ' taco that most Americans are used to). I loved the salsa bar, where you could help yourself to salsa of various flavors and level of heat. I had a vegetarian burrito, which was good but not great. The ambiance is meh, just a step above strip mall austerity, though not being a fancy place, it was ideal for the kids (and they loved their quesadilla and tacos). It was not that crowded on a weekend night, but it seemed really loud in the restaurant, and it was kind of hard to carry on a conversation without feeling like I was yelling. I really wanted to give this place 3 1/2 stars because while the food was good, the overall dining experience was kind of a disappointment. We will probably go back but get take out next time so we can enjoy our food in the comfort and quiet of our home.
I love this cozy little spot! The decor is crisp and clean. I am a fish taco fan but I just saw a photo of their Gaspacho on twitter and MUST try that too. Ingredients are fresh and owners are involved and committed to customer service. Their marguerita mixer is awesome so don't forget your teguila!
