Pretty good choice when you’re hungry for fish and shrimp. I’ve always chosen fried, but a healthier grilled version is available. Served hot out of the fryer in generous portions for the price, the catfish fillets hit the spot. Most impressive is the size of the shrimp which can pass for freshly harvested. Two sides … red beans and rice along with a cup of tasty coleslaw and an extra order of hush puppies make the 3 pc catfish and 6 shrimp entree plenty to share. But the choices are many. This building has been home to many attempted restaurants, but Sam’s Southern Eatery is apparently in it for the long run. It’s tough to break that snake-bitten enigma that befalls certain buildings, but Sam’s seems to have overcome.

Food was mediocre at best. Asked for no sauce on my po boy was told it doesn't come with any got home to eat and there was sauce on it anyways. The chicken and fried fish were both dry. Red beans and rice was bland.

I had the grilled catfish and shrimp but it was very seasoned with lemon pepper.Then the corn was very spicy?Oh and there are no hooks on doors in bathrooms to hang a purse.

This is the first time I have been to this restaurant. It definitely won't be the last. The food was delicious! I had the fish and shrimp, baked.
