Bill's Toasty Shop - Taylorville

Today, the road led me to a Taylorville landmark. Since the 1930s, Bills Toasty Shop has been a staple on Main. I just had a single cheeseburger with fries, and a root beer float. The burger was thick n juicy ! Fries were crispy and flavorful. .Did I mention real ice cream in those floats and shakes? Awesome service, and friendly patrons. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

There might be better burgers, but I don't know where. If you are near Taylorville then you have to stop here. Open 24 hours a day, every single day! I drive 40 minutes one way to get these burgers. They have probably the best burgers that I've ever had anywhere, amazing shakes and what appears to be fresh cut french fries as well. This isn't the kind of place that you can bring a big group because seating is limited. There is a counter that you sit at or three small two people booths. CASH ONLY!!!!

Have eaten here for many years, on slow days and busy days. Tonight 11/5/23 we walked out not because of a wait but because the waitress was disrespectful and rude not only towards us but customers on the phone as well. I'd hate to think an establishment in existence this long was losing its customers and reputation over such an unprofessional employee.
