Bidra med feedbackWhat an incredible property! The resort was amazing but the food and service set this wellness resort above the rest. Alberto and his team do an amazing job. The top experience was the truffle hunt followed by a lunch where the chef used our truffles in every dish. The Spa and services were outstanding as well. The views from the property just didn't look real. We did wellness activities, wine tasting and rented a car the hotel arranged for a drive to Sienna and San Gimignano wonderful experience!
La Torre is 1 Michelin Star restaurant in Tuscany. It’s one of the highlights we were looking forward to in this year’s trip in Italy. Dinner time, we’ve ordered the 5 courses with the classic wine pairing. I must say everything from the start was about bring the flavor game to the next level. We enjoyed each dish and savored each bite. Wine pairing was perfect. Until the desserts, it all changed and left us really disappointed. The items are way to sweet. I understand that in Italy, it maybe that preferences are more on the sweeter side, but I would expect a Michelin Star restaurant to have well balanced plates across all courses. When one of the staff approached us after dessert and asked how everything was, I honestly said that I found the plate too sweet but we tried to finish them. Same as I was honestly letting them know how good were their previous courses. Weirdly, after the “too sweet” response, nobody from the staff was really attending to us anymore if we still need anything or something. I would have given this a 4-star rating considering the high level of dessert sweetness should the staff have been consistent on the service attentiveness. We were not even asked if we want coffee or tea after, which other tables are having. On the other tables, waiters are just chit chatting and laughing. It left us with such a unsatisfactory feeling and a let down really considering we we’re so looking forward to having this experience.
This Michelin-star restaurant is located at a renovated old castle in Tuscany, Costello del Nero. I don’t post a lot about food, but this was a very unique experience, a combination of tasty, fine food, service and ambience. Every dish meticulously done and carefully arranged. In addition to the food we ordered, we were served an opening tasting of 5 finger-food dishes, a pre-desert sorbet, and a “goodbye” selection of finger-sized sweets. Don”t miss this restaurant if you visit Tuscany.
Excelent experience and great food. Very good service, the food was varried and in a proper amount. location is a bliss. Good wine pairing. The check was significant but as expected for a Michelin star.
Michelin Chef Giovanni Di Pirro ‘s La Torre is Tour de Force among Italian Michelin restaurant experiences, consistently providing among the very best of the numerous over 30 Michelin restaurants I’ve dined in since 2015 In fact his gourmet cuisine is one of the pivotal reasons I just completed my fourth wonderful stay at Castello Del Nero since 2015 Everything is prepared and cooked to perfection .The presentation is stunningly gorgeous but never pretentious That is also the personality of Chef Giovanni Di Pirto is , very humble and unassuming His food speaks for him and enchants you as a voice never could He is as understated in his kitchen as New York Yankee great relief pitcher Mariano Rivera was or better yet Pavarotti’s seemingly effortless ability was in the opera house before hitting the third octave C as Giovanni is ass effortless and truly. natural in the kitchen as he always shines and never ever falters but rather excels at every performance, in fact unimaginably better with each outing and every season The delicate nuances of his flavors are extraordinary as they appeal to all 5 tastes and 4000 taste buds He has three tasting menus ,meat , fish and vegetarian The seafood tasting menu was extraordinary with a variety of local and seaside fish complimented by a bottle of Quintodeccimo Greco De Tufo white wine . The neat tasting menu was absolutely phenomenal and deliciously complimented by a bottle of Costanti Brunello Riserva 2012 His property garden supplies tge fresh herbs and produce for his diverse menu which also offers a La cart selections The staff at La Torre including my excellent server Giulia and her colleague Sara where professional, charming and extremely knowledgeable and well trained Tge deserts were spectacular and tge ambiance and setting in the restaurant is gorgeous old Roman style with an unbelievable outdoor terra e overlooking the hills and mountains of Tuscany is something that can not be rivaled with a spectacular panoramic view that is breathtaking I highly recommend La Torre for a memorable gourmet experience you will treasure for a lifetime But if your like me you’ll frequent every year or two Dr Chris O
