Zukku Sushi Tampa

I’ve been coming here since it opened. But yesterday I came in and my sushi was warm and poorly wrapped. I couldn’t even eat it. It didn’t feel like a safe internal temperature. I understand high volume is lower quality if establishments can’t handle it. But in my opinion sushi shouldn’t be that warm unless it’s been sitting around after a tempura. Maybe it was a bad day. But I don’t think I’ll waste my money again to find out.

I was really excited to try this sushi place. The food came out looked great but within a few minutes I noticed there was not much protein. I let them know and they made corrections. But it did take me a couple of times to do so.

I'm giving the sushi four stars because the zukko roll and spring rolls appetizer tasted good. BUT, I did not know in any shape or form to knowledge of my life time that sushi is served HOT. If I knew it was hot sushi, and NOT cold I would not have ordered this. I like my sushi cold and my Florida weather hot, ya feel me?

I've been here twice and both times the poke was amazing! However I also got boba tea both times and was disappointed. I got mango green tea the first time and it was SO bitter I couldn't taste the mango. The second time I noticed you could ask for it sweet or unsweet and I thought maybe I just didn't realize that and that's why it tasted that way. So I ordered the Thai tea which I am always used to being sweet. However there's was almost no difference; it was sweet at the beginning but the more I drank the more bitter it became. Also the boba was hard, like it was either overcooked or a day old or something. Maybe I'm just used to boba tea being overly sweet but then again certain places allow you to pick your sweetness level. Here it seems like the sweetness is nonexistent even if you order it sweet. I'll be coming back here for poke! But not for boba.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. Visiting from Texas and yet to experience a flavorful sushi place like this in my own city. We had the volcano lobster and the gulf burrito. Hands-down the best sushi I've ever had! So tasty and flavorful. My daughter made us come back the 2nd day for dinner. ?
