Shells Seafood North Tampa

It was out first time here at Shells, they did not disappoint, the food was amazing, the drinks were fantastic, this place great to eat with the family... We definitely will be back!!

Always delicious. One of a very few places whee there are more clams than potatoes in the chowder. Used to bribe our daughter with a quart of their chowder if she stayed home and babysat while the adults went out.

Two people in our group ordered the lobster bisque, which turned out to be quite thick, and they said they wouldn't order it again. The fisherman’s platter was decent, though not particularly exceptional. The fish was good, but I was a bit disappointed to find that the scallops were bay scallops instead of the larger sea scallops I had expected. On the other hand, the jambalaya was outstanding; the shrimp were large and the sausage was flavorful. The salmon was also very good. Lastly, the smothered chicken sandwich was tasty and offered a generous portion. Overall, it was a mixed experience with some highlights.

The staff here are very friendly, and this place remains one of my favorites! The lobster bisque was a bit too salty and had a grainy texture, but the Salmon Felix and Lobster Pasta were excellent. I also ordered grilled shrimp on skewers as a side, and they were delicious!

We started with the clams, which were served in a wine, garlic, and butter sauce. They were a bit salty but still incredibly tasty. I ordered the crab cakes accompanied by steamed vegetables, red potatoes, and fried shrimp. The crab cakes were delightful, filled with sweet crab and veggies. However, I did notice a few crunchy bits that might have been pieces of shell. The flavors were strong, and I particularly enjoyed the perfectly seasoned vegetables. The shrimp were also quite tasty. My husband had the seafood stew over rice, which included fish, scallops, shrimp, and clams in a rich tomato sauce. It looked and smelled heavenly. My daughter chose the salmon dish, topped with a crab cream sauce and served over asparagus. She devoured every bite, and it looked very appetizing as well. Overall, the experience was fantastic. Our server was very polite, attentive, and friendly, and I was happy to leave her a generous tip for her exceptional service. I truly appreciate the entire kitchen and staff at this location and highly recommend it!
