Bidra med feedbackThe beef and chicken habachi had ZERO flavor. No salt no umami just old oil taste. Spring rolls were also flavorless and mushy inside.
I used uber eats to order from Kobe Japan Hibachi. The spicy tuna roll was good but not that spicy. Also, the beef from the beef hibachi wasn't that flavorful. It definitely could have used a bit more seasoning.
Unassuming spot with bench like tables with enough space for small groups to easily enjoy. I came in during the latter part of the lunch rush with 2 patrons wisely enjoying their meals. It took a few minutes for someone to come to the register but I wasn't in a rush so I waited quietly. The kitchen looked very clean and well organized. The floors were clean (no sticky shoes noises here) and that's always a good sign in my book. I was told it would be about 10 minutes. I ordered the chicken hibachi and 2 vegetable spring rolls. I didn't check out the restrooms but they are available for customers.I don't blame the establishment but I wrongly assumed the fried rice would be Japanese style. When I got back to work and saw the rice...I understood why he asked if I wanted yum yum sauce. It was definitely catered to DMV carry out standards. The spring rolls were a tad greasy for my liking.
Hubby had been bemoaning lack of good fast casual hibachi near us, the other options he'd tried being less than desirable. So when I saw Kobe had such good reviews, we had to give it a try. All in all I was quite happy with our meals. I had a beef noodle bento (noodles are 50c extra but absolutely worth it , he had a chicken bento. It was all good, but the chicken was better than the beef, mainly because the beef was just slightly overdone. They'd gotten a nice char on it but went too far as it was no longer juicy on the inside. The chicken on the other hand had a nice outer char but was still nice and juicy. Both were well marinated, as were the noodles that came with my bento (delicious! . The bento also came with a few pieces of california roll (which were just fine , two fried dumplings (which were also fine and two crab rangoons (which were definitely heavier on the cream-cheese and scallion than crab, I'm not sure whether any crabs were actually harmed in the making of these...but they tasted good so that's all I care about .The meal size was just a little bigger than I needed to be full. Probably not a split-in-two size, but a good single meal size, and besides the fried sides wouldn't keep well. The prices are reasonable, each bento was in the 10-11 dollar range plus the upcharges. I had read that yum yum sauce was an upcharge, but the lady brought us two to our table. I'd definitely order them, they are quite tasty, kind of like a fruity mayo flavor. They had canned sodas so we split one. IIRC there were about half a dozen tables if you want to eat in. I'm thinking next time I might order a bowl instead of a bento and take part of it home. I think I read the bowls come with veggies in addition to the meat and rice/noodles. I will definitely get the noodles though as they are super yum.
Lights are way too bright and my sashimi was frozen on the
