Bidra med feedbackI was on a bus trip to Tauranga, and we had a stop in Taihape for a lunch break. I chose this place as it was bright and clean. I had a ham, cheese, and onion toasted sandwich. It was yummy except for the use of red onion rather than white onion, all washed down with a bottle of V.
Excellent toasted sandwich, if not the best I have had anywhere, no shortage of fillings. I asked if they could put a little extra ham in it for me, as I didn't mind paying extra for it, no problem, just another $1.00. Plenty of cheese and onion, and cooked very well, and excellent coffee. This place has to be a must for a stop on your journey. My wife had a ham cheese and pineapple, and it was the best toasty that she has had around. Their whole choice of cabinet food was enticing. While we were there a bus load of tourists arrived, so it must be on one of the tourist bus stops.
Stopped in here for some meat pies as part of a rest/lunch stop on our bus tour down to Wellington. The pies were awesome and reminded me of my childhood (decades ago in Orewa) when Meat pies were a part of everyday life (not really a thing in Canada). I tried two varieties and a Kiwi Whopper (a sausage roll with mashed taters inside) and they never made it back to the bus as I ate them on the go.
Great variety of cake slices and the beat chunky steak pies . Decent prices aswell Looks to be a family run business and will go the extra mile to . Worth the drive from Wellington haha
Great service and food. Coffee not too bad either. Will stop in again on the long drive to Auckland.
