Sunnyside - Tahoe City

We remembered it as a “fine dining” steak and seafood restaurant, dimly lit, quiet, elegant. Instead, it was brightly lit, full of families with children, the menu was more casual. The appetizer (coconut crusted calamari) reminded me of bar food. The entrée choices were much fewer, but entrées were good. I had to wait most of my meal for a water refill. So, this experience was much different than our expectations. Not bad, but not great. Decent.

The food was excellent and the staff very friendly! When making a reservation, be sure to reserve by the window to see the view of the lake!

The Fish tacos are always great. The atmosphere was charged with Christmas energy, and our server Woody, was on it. The only item is the calamari so very breaded that you couldn't tell it was calamari. That missed our expectation.

Christmas was not a good day at Sunnyside .. Understaffed, food was weak as well .. Too bad because we love the place ..

Sunnyside crew shined on a super crowded Christmas Eve! Even though they were shorthanded, they were cheerful, courteous and quite frankly amazing!!
