Bidra med feedbackMy husband and I went to this restaurant for Mexican food. It was good but we both got food poisoning (diarrhea) after eating there. We went back to Panglao after a couple of weeks after and did a take out at Buzz cafe not realizing that Moon and Buzz cafe are just the same restaurant/connected in this particular area. I got food poisoned again! Having food poisoning once, I can understand but twice means there is something wrong with how they are handling the food. It seems like there's no food safety in this restaurant. We have been to many Buzz Cafes in the Island of Bohol and never had any kind of issue with food poisoning. Only this particular location that seems like they are not careful with cleanliness and food safety! The manager/owner should do something about this!
As mentioned by previous reviewers, the key thing to note is that this place is Mexican inspired . However, I wouldn 't say it 's Mexican American, as the best Mexican food I 've ever had was in California, and even the worst burrito truck you would find there, would top this place. We ordered chicken burritos and they tasted fine, and seemed as though they were made with fresh ingrideints. The problem is that it was literally the smallest burrito I 've ever eaten, and didn 't even come with rice. My (44kg) girlfriend and I had to change restaurants after and order another meal each... I 'm not even sure where they found tortillas that small... As others have mentioned, the cheese was also some sort of strange sauce, but the pico de gallo was OK (but too small an amount to be useful). For me, there is better food to be had in the area, in terms of price/quality/quantity. And when I think of the incredibly delicious burritos you can get for $4 in California (big enough to put you in a coma), and compare them to these tiny things, for essentially the same price... I can 't help but feel dissappointed. Although, if they increased their portion sizes (and/or at the very least include Mexican rice), I 'd be more than happy to chow down on another burrito. I may stop by and try some of their other dishes, but for now all I can say is to try their burrito if you don 't have much of an appetite, or give one of their many other menu options a chance. The staff seemed friendly enough, and the food tasted fine, so they are worth a try if you 're in the mood for Mexican inspired food. I would rate it 3 stars, mainly because a $2 meal in the Philippines usually has me full and happy, but this was nearly $4 and left me hungry and unsatisfied. I decided on 4 stars because I went for Mexican, in a foreign country, and didn 't toss half the meal due to poor quality, which has happened before.
Great local restaurant, brought to you by the owners of the ever popular Buzzz Cafe. If you have a craving for Mexican Style cuisine, this is the place to be. From tacos to burritos and more, this is as close as you can get to authentic Mexican food and still be in Bohol, Philippines. They were closed for a few months after COVID19 but Mooon Cafe is again open for business! Conveniently located in Tagbilarans Lite Port Center...
I've tried the Mooon cafe in Cebu before and just like there, the food is amazing. The food servings can be shared to two person.
This Mooon Cafe has improved after a change in management. The beef quesadilla is overly cheesy and the pumpkin soup is bland. The steak is good.
