Chef Francisco Restaurant - Sylvan Lake

My daughter and I chose Chef's as our place to have a nice dinner while in Sylvan Lake. Although there are newer places that have popped up on lakeshore drive, I have always loved Chef's. We were not disappointed! The food was fantastic! The service was super fast and friendly! And the price was amazing!

Since this restaurant is owned by the same person who owns Brava Gastro Bistro, which serves fantastic food, we decided to give them a try for lunch. Big mistake, first of all, our server said " I am filling in for someone, so I don't know the wine list"I ordered a plain burger, with no cheese, I got a cheese burger. I also ordered onion rings, got fries. My husband ordered aDonair wrap with potato chips. The server asked him if he understood that the chips were actually potato chips and he said yes. He got onion rings....now for the quality of the food...the onion rings are not bad. My burger was on the menu as homemade, it was frozen. The donair wrap was the worst part however, it had maybe two slices of meat and was on a tortilla she'll rather than a pita. I don't think we will ever return to this restaurant

Went to Chef's yesterday for a 75th birthday meal (august 24, 2015. There was absolutely no one else in this restaurant at 2:00 p.m. The other establishments were busy but the birthday "boy" wanted to go to this restaurant for fish and chips so we went here. The waitress greeted us right away and we could not believe our eyes - she was bearing way more than is acceptable for a family restaurant. Her clothing was just not acceptable (or should I say her lack of clothing). A slit right up to her thigh, very low blouse exposing way to much. We had our granddaughter with us and we were thoroughly disgusted. She was good at her greetings and waitressing but it was overlooked by her appearance. It was a real turnoff. However, we placed out order of fish and chips and to our surprise we got "store bought" fish sticks and crinkle cut fries. It was horrible - I do better at home with fish and chips. We were very disappointed but ate it just the same. The fish was dry and the chips the same. It was not what we thought we were getting. Home fries and battered - like the English style is what we were looking for. It was over priced all around. I give this restaurant a 4 out of 10. We wont be going back!

Walked in for a meal. It was about 9:30 Before i even got in the door an african american fellow poked me in the chest and said " wheres your ID" Lol Dont touch me I came in for a meal and was pretty much assaulted.Never going back Wouldnt recommend goin back

Have been going out to Sylvan Lake for years to eat, visit, kayak. Their fare used to be so processed we finally quit going. After a day of Kayaking on the lake we were tired and hungry and a little disheveled looking but clean, no different than swimmers or sun bathers. We thought let's go to Chef's and sit outside! There was some discussion as to our entry in SPF paddle shirts (also clean) and shorts etc. and hats. In summertime Sylvan? What? We were taken upstairs to a decent meal, could hardly believe the drink prices but yes waited over 2 hours for a steak. There were several people inside downstairs and maybe 15/16 people upstairs. The view was great, our server did end up very nice and apologized for our entry to the restaurant. Food was not too bad but we sadly will not go back, the beverage drinkers on the rooftop got more attention that the diners. Missing a part of the market that could be taking them well into the autumn. Locals.
