Nantahala Brewing - Sylva

Stopped by here on a whim after a spontaneous trip to the mountains. cute place, plenty of parking. the train cars across from the building add even more charm. we weren't expecting much but boy were we blown away! delicious nachos, the salsa had to be homemade because it tastes so fresh. wings were perfectly cooked and flavorful. we did not order any beer but they had a pineapple jalapeno margarita that will rock your socks off. honestly, we'll probably make the four hour trip back to bryson city just for this restaurant

Beer was pretty good but had to wait in a 40 min line to get it. not really worth the wait honestly. the area was really nice though so it kinda made up for the long wait

10/10. Food was AMAZING slight issue with my burger (bc I'm a monster and I like zero pink in my burger) but they fixed it immediately. Best beer cheese in the county. Amazing drink selection. Great environment really eclectic mix of patrons, live music, chill atmosphere. Will for sure return ?

I consider myself a bit of an expert on baked pretzels and this is by far one of the best. Crunch on the outside and soft on the inside-can’t beat it. I hope this is how it always is prepared and mine wasn’t a one off.Beer, chicken tendies, outside ambiance all fit the bill. Highly recommend

Overnight stay in Sylva had us exploring the downtown area near our motel. This was our last stop on the way back to our motel for the evening. It was still pretty early on a Saturday night and the place was dead (all the other places we had visited were pretty busy). That should have been an indication of our experience to come.Limited beer selection. Staff that all but ignored us (sitting at the bar). Decor? Nope. Sterile and uninviting space.We ordered chips and cheese. $9. Got less than two handfuls of chips and not enough cheese for half of those. RIPOFF!Will not be back.
