Lal Qila - Sydney

Location & Ambiance is very good, but the main reason for the attraction got only average score that is the TASTE. Bit expensive, can be handled but cant compromise on taste. Service was not good & polite.

I have been to this restaurant 5 times now with my partner, and also with my parents, my sisters and my friends. We have all loved it! The main male waiter is lovely and he has recognized me and my partner each time we have returned. The food is exceptional. The naan list goes on and on... so many options. We have eaten prawn, lamb, beef and goat dishes and all were delicious. The BBQ biriyani is also the best I've even eaten. We will be back. It's our go-to restaurant whenever we are in Darling Harbour.

Let me start by saying that the food was good. No complaints there. Now, what made the experience rather unpleasant was when the bill needed to be paid. We were a group of 5 and we asked if we could split a $125 bill into $100 and $25 between 2 people (as not everyone carries cash these days). Now I appreciate that they have a "no split bill" policy but it's not like I'm asking them to split a $5 bill 5 ways. The arrogance with which they refused was confounding. "The sign says no split bills", "it's a system problem", etc etc. I can't believe a restaurant billing system can be so rigid. And I've heard from colleagues that they have split bills before quite easily. Bottomline, they ruined the experience for me and the food wasn't to blame - just the arrogance and stupidity of the individual who doesn't understand that customer experience plays a rather important role in the dining industry.....

We thought as there were some indian people dining that this would be a place to enjoy indian cuisine. i was wrong the food was strongly spiced though very unpalatable it's not indian food that i could relate to. Really disappointed service was slow not a place i would recommend if you want tasty food.

I went their for my husband's birthday dinner. It was great food... We had a paneer starter, Dilbahar Zafrani kofta,Adraki Murgh Curry & Chicken Biryani... all the preparations were good including the Rotis & Naans. I would surely re-visit & highly recommend to try.
