Bidra med feedbackI ate here for a farewell meal following a week long visit to Denmark. We were a very large group and the restaurant coped very well with this. The starter was foie gras with figs and was delicious. The bread was served warm and it complemented the foie gras perfectly. Spring venison and potatoes were for the main course. The venison melted in my mouth I'm salivating thinking of it now. For dessert, we had cheesecake with fresh liquorice. The wine was delicious and went very well with the food. This was one of the best meals of my life and I look forward to returning at some point in the future.
The restaurant was not exactly crowded, only 6-8 other guest. very politely servant and extremely good quality of meat. We both had tenderloin, cooked to our satisfaction and a good italian wine. Because of the season, it was dark outside, otherwise we would have been looking direct at the sunset.
We, unfortuneyely, had hotel rooms in the secondary building and could not dine in the restaurant because we traveled with children. The hotel overcame this problem by serving us, using golf carts, in a dining area in the secondary building. Super friendly staff and great Danish food. Traditional dishes but with modern twists including veal tartare with truffle mayonnaise. Can be highly recommended for the food!
We tried their fish/shellfish(inside) and grill(outside) buffet, which they have thrice a week during the summer. The price is DKK 228, which is very good value for money, notably thanks to the cold buffet with fish, shellfish and salads. The situation is of course first class, facing west over Ebeltoft Bay with the sun setting over the Mols Bjerge National Park. It is of course at its best on a warm evening, with the verandah doors open, but would even be a good cheer-me-up on a grey day.
We spent a delightful weekend at this hotel and ate every dinner and breakfast there. It was so fresh, and the young Chef has the gift of combining flavors to enhance all the foods. GO!!
