Sebastian made us welcome and helped us choose an excellent white wine. all the dishes were a joy with the specials really to live on their names.

My husband, friends, and I have been loyal customers of this restaurant for a long time because we always enjoyed the food, service, and convenience it offered. Right before Christmas 2023, our son and daughter surprised us with 100 Euro vouchers each for the restaurant. Unfortunately, due to illness, we didn't have the opportunity to dine out much in early 2024 and had planned to use the vouchers when our son visited in April 2024. To our dismay, we found out that the restaurant had closed down, despite reading about it in Lucinda's article just a few weeks prior to our planned visit. It's puzzling to us how the restaurant continued to sell vouchers in December 2023 when they knew they would not be open in 2024. We were very disappointed by this unexpected turn of events.

The food at this restaurant was amazing, from the starters to the main course. The truffle fries were especially delicious. The staff were very attentive and the Rocky Road cocktail was a must-try. I will definitely be returning.

Yet another enjoyable visit. Once again, the food was outstanding. The staff were attentive and superb. The ambiance was delightful. It was a perfect evening.

We went out for a girly dinner. To catch up properly without husbands or kids. Since Christmas the Restaurant has been done up and it’s lovely. We were greeted by Seb upon our arrival and seated at a lovely table. All the staff in Coal are very food- friendly and helpful. We started off with some Martello Tower cocktails which were delicious especially the cherry at the end : we each had a starter and a main, along with some crisp NZ white wine. For starters we had the Korean prawns, Brie and Johnny’s croquettes: they were all so tasty and beautifully presented. For mains my friends each had the chicken supreme and they each really enjoyed it. I had the confit of duck keg. It was again presented beautifully and was so yummy. Colly and his team in the kitchen send out consistently wonderfully presented and tasty food. One of my friends had never been to Coal but she will be back. We had a wonderful evening so a huge thanks to Seb and all his team in front of house for making it a great night for us.
