The Rake Riddle - Swansea

Had a fantastic afternoon tea here yesterday. From the time we walked in to the time we left the staff were excellent. A lovely array of sandwiches to meet all our dietary needs, savoury nibbles, scones with cream and jam and delicious selection of cakes to finish. It was stunning and beautifully presented . Value for money ,definitely recommend and will come back again . Thank you for a lovely afternoon. Shame I can’t post a picture of it

Pleasantly surprised. Walked in an had immediate chain vibes. TVs everywhere, table numbers, decor etc all screamed chain, however the food and service was very good. The salmon and pie was high standard. The brownie for dessert was delicious. Loved that they were using local businesses also. Definitely recommend.

This was our first visit this evening. We booked online and didn't realise there were 2 separate menus. Downstairs is lovely, great atmosphere and table service. Upstairs is like a sports bar, self service but again great atmosphere. We went upstairs as the menu offered ribs and pasta dishes. My wife had Chilli and I had the ribs. They were both outstanding, the ribs never seemed to end, home made sauce, home made chips and home made coleslaw. Everything was perfectly cooked, very tasty and we will definitely be going back. We caught glims of the build your own burgers being served on the next table and there was a definite moment of food envy. Highly recommended. Pics are from second visit!

The restaurant is lovely and the food was good but it did take a long time to arrive. We were a large group though! Service was a little slow. We were told we would need to order at the table because we were downstairs but we had to go get our own drinks a few times (which is fine) as the waitress was busy. Overall, would definitely recommend but maybe preorder for large groups if possible.

What a find. Had the most lovely Sunday lunch and as a bonus our table was in front of a TV so we got to watch the final afternoon of the open championship..The service was just excellent, food great and I will tell you that I can cook so I know the difference. Great value, cannot recommend it enough. Will certainly be going back. John Suzie Grantham Solihull
