Bidra med feedbackBoyfriend took me here last valentinstag and it was absolutely beautiful. we got a table on the window and the personal embraced our love for Valentine's Day. our favorite wine from the hunter valley was available and the eating was absolutely stunning. some dishes were quite rich, but there were no complaining of us coming! the hot aroma ice was a standout, second only to meet colin at the end of our meal. I was tied up and about what a fan I was from him, he was so beautiful and charming, even if I was a blushing chaos! Definitively remember an experience!
I've been there before, but that was almost years ago. always wanted back, but the competition is hard to choose in surry hills with so many great places and always try something new. Too bad they decided to close the restaurant. we were too late for our sat booking, but they were good about it, not trying to rush us out of the door. it turned out that there were many tables for the late second seats anyway. the food was great. between us we shared smaller plates, large plate, a Broccolini side and all desserts in the offer. from the savouries, I enjoyed all the blue cockroach crab shell got my attention at mentioning pigs cracker, but out that it is more like a rice cracker and very small in serving. the ochsenzunge was well cooked and much better then what I expected. the lamb ribs were large, but it was served in the Pita bread, which means that it had to be disassembled. I enjoyed the larger plate poached dory, which my friend did not like in fish, did not like the supper broth that it came in hard to eat on a flat plate. the desserts were of interesting combo. it turned out that they all hang on another ice. there was a Hay ice cream with the even didin, taste was very subtle, not sure if I liked it. I loved the malteser, didn't look like one, but has all the aromene textures of one. the white erdnussbutterdulce de leche was a whole round quantity, bitter. our waiter was very friendly attentive. Nice that we made it back for a last meal before the closure.
Went to this restaurant with friends for dinner and it was lovely, food was delicious (the squid, highlight for us) the wine was lovely and service attentive and friendly. We walked out of here highly impressed. The only downside was sitting in the middle of the floor and the adjoining long seat kept moving every time the people behind us got up, easily fixed if that seat was locked into the floor. In saying that, we will be back!
We were a 6pm booking for three and were seated in a back corner table for 2 with an extra chair. The place was empty. And stayed empty. It was a Tuesday and they were not busy. I kept eyeing the empty table next to us, generously set for 4 with lots of space. Once the plates started arriving we had to move candles and drinks off the table onto the bench seat to make room. That still-empty table next to us was taunting me!We ordered 5 dishes and then shared 2 desserts. The small plates were great - Citrus Cured Salmon was a highlight. And the Suckling Pig with Prunes was delicious. The wine list looked interesting, but there was no room for more glasses on the table, so I skipped the wine.
We found the menu confusing - what's the obsession with sharing plates? We had sharing plates of roasted squid ( the best we've ever tasted), salt fish croquettes (yum), tempura skate ( super yum) and a very weird carrot! The carrot tasted interesting but definitely not of carrot. Then suckling pig - also really excellent and a huge portion of brocolini which was enough for four or five not two. No room for dessert. Can recommend but if we went again we'd order fewer dishes ( not the 4-6 recommended by the waitress)
