California Pizza Kitchen - Sunrise

I was going to order the pizza and an espresso martini but instead ordered a strawberry iced tea and a chicken piccata and let me tell you it was amazing....

I had never been here before, and decided it was time to try it. It was horrendous trying to find parking on a Sunday in the rain at the Sawgrass location....

A very friendly and welcoming location of CPK! Very clean and updated as other locations. Plenty of indoor seating and seems like there usually isn't much...

This was my first time going to a California Pizza Kitchen in general. My family members have been there before and to this specific location. I wasn’t too impressed honestly. We went around 7:30/8pm on a Wednesday and it was relatively empty when we arrived, more people came in as we sat there. The avocado corn dip was alright, I think I would have preferred a guacamole, but I also didn’t look at the appetizer or small plate options or choose this plate. The only thing that came out in a timely manner were the drinks which were waters, sodas and an iced tea. It took a pretty long time from when we ordered to even receive our food. We ordered 3 pizzas, a soup, and a kids pasta. We waited quite some time, but once it started to take EXTRA long, our server came up to us and apologized for the wait and that one of the pizza tickets somehow got mixed up and was in the works while two of the pizzas were ready and if we would like them now or to wait. We asked to just bring out the food that was ready. I’m guessing since the pizzas were just sitting there, when we received them, they were basically just warm although closer on the colder end. I only ate two slices because I was hungry and needed to eat at least something. As as stated, I wasn’t too impressed by the taste and the pizza was cold so I couldn’t tell if that was the reason the taste was pretty bland. It even took forever to ask for the check and pay. I will try to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were understaffed or maybe our server was new? My sister said the last time she was there their server was much better and when they asked for Parmesan cheese he came over with the grater. During this experience, she just put some cheese on a plate and handed it to us. I also had to stand up and ask someone else for garlic powder and a pepper shaker. I will probably give either this location or another CPK another try since this was my very first time at a CPK, but it most likely wont be any time soon.

Food was good; however, I saw an employee walk out of the restroom without washing their hands. Disgusting
