La Empanadas - Sunnyvale

I attempted to place an order twice through Doordash, but both times it was never accepted. After waiting for 30 minutes, they ended up canceling both orders. It appears that this restaurant is not managed by competent professionals.

I have been ordering from La Empanadas through EZ Cater for the past year. They offer a great selection of empanadas to please a variety of taste preferences. Their vegan and vegetarian options are equally delicious. I especially enjoy the sauce that accompanies the empanadas. The texture of the empanadas is perfectly crispy on the outside and full of flavor on the inside. They are perfect for parties or events where tray orders are needed. I plan to continue ordering from them in the future.

The empanadas served at this restaurant are not authentic at all. They are actually Mexican flour tortillas filled with average-tasting fillings, then deep fried. Genuine empanadas have a deliciously flaky and crispy exterior with a soft interior, but these ones are overly greasy and unappetizing. It pains me to leave a negative review, but the pricing for these empanadas is unreasonable considering the lack of authenticity in the product.

The shells are very thick so you can barely taste the meat/other ingredients. I’m being generous with three stars.

These empanadas are NOT empanadas at all. They are Mexican flour tortillas stuffed with mediocre flavored fillings that have been deep fried. Real empanadas have the most amazing flaky and crispy exterior yet soft inside, but these are excessively oily and disgusting. I hate to give a business poor reviews, but the cost for this product is ridiculous, and the product itself isn’t authentic.
