The Golf - Suffolk Coastal

Great local pub! Popped in with some friends for lunch, staff were really friendly, atmosphere with the Xmas decorations was lovely. Lots on offer on the menu at an affordable price. Vicky took time to speak to us when serving our food and told us all about the Thursday quiz night and the band playing at the end of the month. Overall couldn’t fault anything, will definitely be coming in again!

Staff totally ignored us. They were too busy putting up Christmas decorations. We will never return.

We made a reservation with Amanda the manager over the phone, soon went for lunch. Amanda had a lovely manner when we entered and showed us the table. We ordered at the bar with ease and we’re offered any extras. Felicity ‘Flick’ brought over our drinks and main meals. Such a lovely server. She was very polite, sweet natured. I spoke to the lovely Erika at the bar, even though she was busy and had her own tables to serve. Kathryn finally helped me pay, was equally as attentive as the other staff. The roast dinner and lasagne meals were perfectly fine, the atmosphere in the pub was really good. Good tunes playing! The whole experience was excellent, due to the front of house members I’ve mentioned. Thank you Amanda..Great team! And thank you Chefs, for the yummy food! 10/10!

My friends and I went to the Golf restaurant today and ordered in pairs, taking advantage of the 2 for £14.49 deal. Each pair paid separately, but our meals were served one after the other. One pair finished eating before the other meals arrived, and after multiple inquiries, we were told there were online orders between our meals. After over 45 minutes of waiting, the rest of our food finally arrived. Surprisingly, tables near us who ordered after us received their meals before us. As pensioners, we felt like we were being dismissed and asked for compensation, but were only offered a free drink. We declined, as we were ready to leave, and requested a voucher, which was denied. This isn't the first time we've experienced poor service at this restaurant, so we won't be returning anytime soon.

I went to have a nice meal before a quiz and arrived at the restaurant to find only a couple of tables available with no reserved signs. We found a table, had our main course, and ordered desserts. While waiting for our desserts, a member of the public informed us that the table was reserved for a large party. Despite there being no reserved sign, the staff sided with the other party and asked us to move. We had been waiting for our food for a while and just wanted to finish our meal and leave. The service was slow, and we felt uncomfortable being asked to move when it was not our fault that the table was not reserved properly. We will not be returning to this restaurant, as the staff did not take responsibility or provide proper service.
