Ihop - Suffolk

Waited 15 minutes and no one came to the host podium. One gentleman that was picking up told one of the workers that there were people waiting to be seated and her reply was that she was not the host. (He walked out without getting his food). Many people walked out as did we.

It was EXTREMELY busy due to the holiday and each employee provided outstanding customer service made sure you got seated as soon as possible. There was a little bit of a wait for the food, (like I said it was busy) but it was hot and worth the wait. There were a few ridiculously rude customers and the manager and staff handled them like a champ. This isn't the first time we've been here when it was busy and I remember the service being similar.

We went on a Saturday evening, so that could be what the problem was, but my daughter really wanted scary face pancakes for her birthday dinner so that's what we did. Our experience was so bad that I don't think we'd ever come back to this location, though. The server was also the host as she was the only one in the front. Our whole time there, there were only 3 tables, including us, but service was so slow. The drinks we ordered at the beginning didn't come until we were halfway done with our meals. One of my kids never even received their side dish for their meal, but everything else took so long to come that I let it be. The pancakes were good, but everything else was not. We spent way too much money on food that took too long and mostly ended up in the trash. The host/server was kind, at least.

Before we even ordered the host let me know what they didn't have and that the manager refuse to order and they had to work with what they had. Food was horrible. They didn't have waffles mind you that was not one if the items she said they didn't have neither was the biscuit's . she proceeds to tell me they don't have any Togo condiments no ketchup or syrup and no Togo silverware. . The food my daughter and my self ordered was horrible.The hasbrowns were burnt, the bacon was burnt. Ordered a side of country gravy and it was ice cold. If I had paid with my card I would have definitely disputed the charges because the food was not worth the money.

This place is having issues. The manager was great and is struggling to turn it around. Apparently they were short staffed and out of several ingredients so our food was not as expected. Would go back in a month or so to see if life gets straightened out.
