Bidra med feedbackWe stayed at the Castello and this restaurant is in the grounds not owned by the Castello we booked through the hotel reception Lots of Italian families and couples this we were the only English speaking people there Great service and excellent foo Had an amazing glass of wine, so sorry i didn't ask if I could buy a bottle but I am going to try to track it down I had the gnocchi which were huge and filled with mozzarella, my husband said the ribs were very good The tiramisu was the best we had during our month in Italy
Our stay at the castle of Valenzano, far from towns or shops, made us discover the very good homemade type of food restaurant on its premises. Homemade pasta, and roasts had generous servings. Their desserts were not however very original, but the ice cream and fruit salad were always present. A good selection of wines allowed the visitor to try some of the best Regional Italian wines. After breakfast, a walk on the small park was an opportunity to tour among the old trees still standing. We enjoyed the stay and were given a very big room reserved for the married couple, it was called the Egyptian room...and we even had a small dining room just for us!
I cannot say enough good things about this historic castle. We stayed a night at the castle and it is my favorite memory of Italy. The feeling of its age and the beauty of its architecture make it a fantastic place to stay overnight.
We celebrated our Wedding at the Castello di Valenzano. We had arranged everything by e mail, and had not even seen the castle before the day before the wedding. However, we were not disappointed! The castle is beautiful, has a great location high up in the hills outside Arezzo, and is surrounded by lovely gardens. The food is great, and we were incredibly impressed by the service both how they managed to make everything (flowers, food, music) perfectly in accordance to our wishes, and the way they kept everything running smoothly during the day while taking great care of us and our guests. Warmly recommended!
On our last day in italy this year, we had dinner in the castello di valenzano. It was a steep road up in the dark but then there it was not a italian house or villa but a real castle, a big one ! after looking a bit for the entrance of the restaurant we climbed up the stairs and found an empty place. Yes it was wednessday evening but empty ? We had a look on the menu, very sympathetic chef de salle by the way, and three of us had the menu 25 euro for 25 dishes (yes you have red right! and my sun had the classical antipasto and afterwards the steak. We had a fantastic experience the dishes were small of course (25 of them but most were well prepared (some hot ones might have been to cold and delicious. This with some excellent wine (amarone and the evening was perfect. Except for the absence of ambiance. They really need to find a way to have a full place than this could be a topper !
