Bidra med feedbackVery busy, people queueing at 12.15 but as usual staff wer very helpful and within a few minutes we were seated . Ordered food and it was with us within 10 minutes served by very pleasant staff. It’s always a pleasure to go there, highly recommended and good value .
The afternoon tea was fantastic with plenty of delicious treats to go around, including a tasty gluten-free option. The staff were friendly and helpful.
I visited Hillier Garden Centre in Dunnington Alcester on June 24th, 2023. I was in the area and decided to stop by today. I was disappointed to find that there was no food left out to attract deer, but I did manage to see my first tree creeper. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a photo because a young child started screaming and scared it away. Despite this, I did enjoy the miniature train rides, the great selection of plants, and the fantastic cafe/restaurant and butchers. However, I was overall very disappointed with my visit and feel that they are not maximizing the potential of the location. It's too far for me to visit regularly, and I may not return even if I am in the area again. I visited with Ron Baker, and I would recommend it for families with children who are in the area.
We live nearby and regularly use the farm shop and the cafe. The food is good and it’s a lovely setting, up until today this has outweighed the hit and miss staff. Today at 3.55pm we arrived at the kiosk to order sandwiches and drinks. My partner commented that the breakfast baps finished at 4pm, it was on the menu board. The sandwiches and snacks are available from 11.45am, nothing about what time they finish, so one would imagine it would be just before 5pm when they close. The member of staff said that the breakfast baps finished ages ago. We asked to order sandwiches and were told the kitchen was closed and we could have cakes or pastries only. Her manner was appalling so we chose to walk away. The staffing has always been haphazard, occasionally helpful, often not, and things ordered not brought to the table until we point out they have been forgotten. If the kitchen is going to close over an hour before the cafe closes, why doesn’t it say this on the menu. Maybe the staff need to be paid to stay on after the cafe closes to clear up?
This was my second visit. The first time I came to meet new friends as I was joinging a lunch club. That visit was a happy one. I went around the gift shop and the farm shop and had a good asparagus lunch. This time I discovered the gardens and the hide where I saw a woodpecker and hen phesant. Perhaps the food was not so good this time because the filo spinach roll was heavy and soggy but on the other hand the farm shop and gardens were worth a visit in their own right. Come here and see for yourself. I will be back.
