Bidra med feedbackThe location is great, just before the stay in the mountain resort itself, you cannot get much closer to the ski area. Now the hotel itself is very simple. The lobby isn't really occupied so it's hard to get information about the area unless you ring for someone coming down. There are no housekeeping services if you stay no longer than 5 days. With 4 people in one room we had to get toilet paper, empty the garbage and get 2 more towels as there were only 2. It always took a while because there is no staff. Breakfast is still delivered in collection containers. Not much change. The rooms are very simple, small and the bathroom was tiny. The pool and hot tub are great, much better than some other higher rated hotels where I was. There is a shuttle from the hotel to the ski area. Room was very loud, with people who go to the hall with their snow boots and no noise protection, it sounds like a herd buffalo just goes through your room. So don't expect to fall asleep because people go to skiing early. So if you are looking for a basic hotel with a great location, this is a good choice if you are looking for some comfort, I would look elsewhere.
What a pleasant surprise! We absolutely loved the Northern Lighthouse. The staff was so friendly and helpful and what a great breakfast they gave us daily. The muffins were some of the best I had. The lodge was clean and picturesque. Close to everything Stowe has to offer. We will definitely return!
Our room in February for Sept... probably not necessary. It was busy, but not full. Enjoy our stay, clean comfortable room for reasonable price... one of the most expensive in the area. Was concerned when the first arrived, outside the landscape building was overgrown, but they make improvements. Friendly owners. Large breakfast from 4 choices... real eggs (not POWDERED) Easy access to the pool and had a river behind with seating to enjoy Snd. Would like to stay.
We stayed here for 3 nights and it was a great location to enjoy our bike/exploratory in Stowe. The property is picturesque, so in any case await some quirks, as the hallway can be very loud at all times of the night as it is wooden/creaky. We did not get the best of rest because the beds felt like old spring mattresses, so I would recommend that the lodge invest their money in better beds. The highlight of our stay was breakfast as it was abundant and the breakfast room manager was very friendly / helpful. Another highlight was that coffee/tea were always available at any time of the day. One of the other reasons we chose this lodge was because they have both an indoor and an outdoor pool. On our last day we tried to enjoy the beautiful outdoor pool, but the water was ice cold. Every day we enjoyed the indoor, heated pool and hot tub. The bridge over the pool is very unique and was a highlight for my child. The location is only approx. 8 minutes drive to the main road and only 5 minutes to the base of the ski mountains. The bathroom in our room is definitely required for some upgrades. The sink is probably original and for my 6'2 man it was drastically low. Very little worktop or shelves to put personal items. We have made the best of our stay and really enjoyed the beautiful gardens, especially in our last night, where we enjoyed our pick-up dinner Alfresco. This stay certainly matched our budget and was family friendly.
Our room was nice. Offseason price was reasonable. Aways from town but at the base of Smugglers Notch, so only a short drive there. Plenty of amenities including pool and sauna although we didn't take advantage of them. The HVAC system can be a challenge in the spring or fall when you it varies when you want Heat or Cool. Overall a pleasant stay.
