Bidra med feedbackI went into Sainsbury 's Hanley today with my 16yr old who is also my young carer. I checked with the security guard before entering that it was ok for him to come in with me. I am asthmatic and have bipolar and serious anxiety, but instead of using the vunarable times and taking up a space for someone, we cope by going shopping later in the day. In other places we have shopped, my 16yr old walks round with me and he puts stuff in the trolley so I have no contact, and we both wear masks. So anyway, we went in together and we made sure we kept distant from everyone else, when this male member of staff, after having a go at the security guard comes to tell me that we either have to walk apart, or one of us wait outside. I explained the situation and was told it didn 't matter, those were the rules and they applied to everyone. So with a bit of distress and anger, my 16yr old walked behind me and we did the best we could. I then saw a woman being pushed in a wheelchair and thought 'why didn 't she have to wait in a car? ' I wasn 't bitter about her, but did get increasingly annoyed. Not every disability is visible, and I have now decided to take the matter up with head office ESPECIALLY as Sainsbury 's claim a child can go in with a parent, and people with mental health issues are permitted a carer. It was an embarrassment being spoken down to in front of other customers, and this upset us both. Life isn 't easy for anyone right now, but it is no excuse to talk to us like we are a burden. It was our first time in this Sainsbury 's and I doubt we will go again now. We only wanted to try somewhere different and had heard Sainsbury 's were good and understanding with their customers. Yeah ok! I 'm sure they are if you don 't let them know you have mental health issues. Thanks for reminding me that people like me won 't really ever be accepted. Stay safe everyone and hope you all get through these difficult times
Good service and nice food, not great choice though
Always love this place. Light breakfast just enough, cafe comfortable and the staff are fantastic especially the young ones we see on a Saturday morning.
I had a pot of tea, cheese+onion quiche with chips and salad the cost of which was reduced by £2.50 with my Nectar card. Great value.
Seeing as it's my place of work I would 100% recommend Sainsbury ?
