Bidra med feedbackBoberg is such a strange thing. Christmas at Bobergs is even stranger, but in a good way. This was Christmas number two. All i served are in small portions. The lowest level is Very Good and at its best it is absolutely amazing. Situated in one of the most beautiful rooms in Stockholm it almost demands perfection. Service works perfect. But then lets get back to the food. This is not the really the Swedish traditional Christmas food. Well it contains the same things but tastes so much better. If a crash course in Swedish Christmas food is desired this works pretty well. But you will keep getting disappointed on every other occasion after this. This was the best this far. Actually better than the first one at Boberg's. But then there was the fish and the Burgundy wine.. The wine (Yes i love Burgundy) was one of the best I have had for a very long time and together with the fish this was kind of 2,5 G.M. Stars or something. The dessert was unfortunately not for me, but then I am a chocolate man and there was not enough percent in it to for me to like it. My wife loved it and my guess is that that goes for the other 99% of people that is not just like me. Coffee was good and yes to finish off price/performance was very good. We will probably be there again next December if the world do not totally collapse. The only thing that one can add really was that the distance between the tables lacked one meter to be safe.
Lovely lunch restaurant. Always busy but with a subdued atmosphere. Elegant, classical, beautiful. The A la carte is always, always delivering on top level. Some classical Swedish dishes, some dishes with a touch. But always excellent. Nice and attentive servants.A true favorite where I keep coming back to.
I 've reviewed Bobergs several times before and this review will be as positive as the last ones. We had a Christmas lunch family gathering and choose Bobergs because they refrain from serving the julbord (Swedish Christmas smörgasbord). The julbord has its roots several hundred years back when Sweden was a farming country. So a traditional julbord is both heavy and unrefined. Even so, very popular in Sweden around Christmas. But should you want to have something more elegant, the solution at Bobergs is a great choice! An assortment of traditional starters in little portions is presented on a table sized ferris wheel . Here you find both herring, salmon, mini Toast Skagen as well as paté and a rilette of guineafowl. Main dish is a duck confit christmasized with some traditional Swedish seasonal ingredients such as point cabbage, brussel sprouts and collard greens elegantly fried to crispness. Celeriac puree on the side. Finally a chocolate bavaroise with marinated cherries. On the whole a more subtle way to take in the Swedish christmas flavours. Excellently cooked of course the Frantzén trademark delivers... And very affordable the whole menu comes at around 50 EUR. Recommended if you 're looking for a Swedish Christmas taste in a more concentrated and elegant form.
Table was booked, busy restaurant. One slice of bread per person.,Appetizer Quenelles (165kr) included 3 Quenelles according to our Waitress.. She came back and said only 2, but I could have 4 for 275kr.. Two miniature ones 110kr.. !! Same tiny dollop of spinach, vegetable cubes as appetizer nearby and a bowl of lukewarm potatoes! I actually offered them to my friends who were struggling with Vegetarian something with truffles.. Cannot recommend
Ferdinand Boberg was the leading architect around year 1900. Unfortunately, he was mobbed out of active business by younger colleagues before his time otherwise we would have had much more beautiful building in Sweden and especially in Stockholm. The leading department store NK was one of these buildings. The dining room at the top floor who got his name was his last achievement year 2015 is a gem. The room as well as the furniture is intact since more than one hundred years. So only this is worth what you pay for, and the food is just something extra. The service was very friendly, and we felt that we were well looked after. The bread and butter that we got was very delicious. We had our lunch a very warm Saturday in the end of August. Due to the weather we order a shrimp salad, but there are many alternatives. This was beautifully presented on a marble plate which looks as if it came from the same place as the marble floors in the department store, that is from Kolmården. It was very good and light and accompanied by a small bowel of Rode Island dressing as it should. That made it possible to decide just how much dressing you wanted. We really liked our meal, and can be warmly recommended.
