Bidra med feedbackWe made a booking for Xmas eve 2023 back in September. At that time their booking Ts+Cs stated that bookings for 9 or more were not refundable. Ours was for 5. On 2nd November (over 7 weeks notice) we cancelled the booking as we can no longer make it. They refuse to refund our £50 deposit. When I checked their booking Ts+Cs again on 2nd November their Ts+Cs then stated that all bookings made IN December are non-refundable, not that bookings made FOR December were non refundable. I contacted them today via FB messenger and asked again for the £50 to be refunded. They have refused and have sent a link to new Ts +Cs which now state that all festive bookings are non-refundable. My family have been very egular customers until now. I understand that restaurants need to protect against the impact of late cancellations, but seriously, they have 7 weeks to easily fill the booking. What a business decision for such a relatively small amount from their perspective, which would certainly have been rebooked. We will NEVER return. My 92 year old mother who paid the £50 deposit is very upset.
Just had an amazing meal at the River House! Staff were fabulous especially Laura. Service was excellent and the food was just perfect. They were so busy the restaurant was full but they all took time to check we were OK and everything ordered arrived quickly! So impressed and we will definitely be back!
Went to the river house last night with the misses after being in multiple times. We came in to try the new menu. Again this place fails to disappoint in both service and food. Restaurant was very busy even tho it’s a Thursday night. Our servers were both called Cameron which i found very weird but very funny at the same time. We only had mains this time round which was the chicken buns and the thia chicken. Both were absolutely to die for. This place fails to disappoint every time we are in and is a place I will visit for a long time to come. Well done to Cawley another great restaurant.
My family booked this restaurant to celebrate our Golden Wedding there were 15 people booked for dinner we were taken to the table where my daughter noticed the ballons and banners were not put on the table as she was promised the night before A waitress came and took a drinks order brought the drinks then stood at the other side of the room spying on the table she then proceeded to come to the table and lift a strawberry cocktail from the table as my grandaughter had no id with her my daughter went to speak to a manager he said if no ID then that's the law but she had no right to lift a drink we had paid for in my opinion then starter came 1 finished the starter still waiting on14 had to ask waiter where they were eventually they were brought main meals came 1 sent back stk overcooked by this time everyone else was finished the stk came back still not the way it was asked for a lot of money spent don't think one of the staff smiled all night except 1 gentleman took the kids orders and his rapore with them was excellent my family were very dissapointed after all the money spent to celibate a special day
We have been unable to use vouchers given to us by the family for our Ruby wedding last year. We realised on Friday last week that the vouchers had expired by about 4 weeks! We contacted Cawleys to have the vouchers extended which total £180 and they won't extend them for us!! We always look forward to our overnight stays at Duck Bay Hotel but sadly we won't be back or frequent any of Cawleys venues in the future. So sad that people do not have any compassion or understanding of people's busy lives and trying to fit in social events.
