Lovely place, the hot chocolate, the dark chocolate tea, the chocolaté cake, everything was excellent. And the service on top ! A place to go when visiting Stavanger !

Terrible service everyone at the table have to order something or else you cannot stay, not welcoming

I went to this restaurant with a friend visiting from Hungary. We wanted to sit inside on a cold summer evening and requested a non-alcoholic drink. The waiter immediately recommended an iced tea to me and rushed off without taking my friend's order. When he returned, he brought an iced tea with too much ice. We had to ask for a menu. The waiter (who may have been the owner) was impolite and boastful, claiming to have the best prices in town, which turned out to be incorrect. He even insisted that the price was the same whether or not we actually ordered anything. When we paid, he mentioned that the price would be higher next time, as if it mattered to us. His strange and unkind behavior has made me decide not to bring my friends here again.

Me and my friends went there because there was a lot of free tables. We were a group of 6, where 5 of them ordered expensive drinks almost right away. One of us didn 't want anything, but we were told that only paying guest are welcome. This in not unusual, but it is very unusual to inform us about this strict policy after some of us had already ordered. My friend asked for some time to think about it, but because of the continuous pressure to buy something anything, because it is a way to say thank you to us for our great hospitality the mood was very tense and she said that she respect their policy, but they should inform their guests about it when they arrive. She then said that she would leave shortly, to respect their rule about paying guest. The owner was very aggresive and asked when she would leave, and after forcing her to state a time he said he would go back and set the timer on. All of us were shocked on who badly she was treated, and even though she asked for time to think about what to get, she didn 't get any. They were more focused on kicking her out. None of us wanted to stay there, because it was so uncomfortable. We had ordered drinks for about 1000 NOK, and the way we was treated was horrendous. Not only that, he was rude enough to accuse her of lying about having been there before, so she should have known the rules. My friend hadn 't been out drinking for almost 3 years, and this was the first time she visited this place. It ended up with us all leaving and feeling scared, bullied at badly treated. Maybe they offer great service or food to others, but this kind of behavior doesn 't belong in the service business.. He ruined our evening.
