First of all I give 4 stars ONLY, because 5 stars are reserved for amazing, extraordinary, special occasional restaurants that really deliver. The way the reviews get. For an affordable, local restaurant; You can count on it when you're beat, the kids were a terror, or you just don't have the will to cook, eat and then clean... CHEN'S. IS. AWESOME. I have read some of the recent reviews, and I think it is as they say opinions are like (you know), and we have some HUGE opinions in the area of Barrow/Jackson. So, we have Hot and Sour Soup, Spring Rolls, Sweet Sour Chicken and Szechuan Beef. Everything was SPOT ON. The soup was tasteful and bursting with treats; the spring rolls were crispy light and not greasy in the least; the sweet sour chicken was really burst out of the Quart container, it was such a great order, and got Rave reviews. I personally had the Szechuan Beef, which was plentiful, savory and perfectly cooked. The vegetables were crisp, cooked, only enough to make a bit of flex to them, and the beef was tasty and not quite gumy that I am in many local Chinese restaurants. The restaurant was clean, the aroma was enough to make me hungry as I should have been. MOST IMPORTANTLY, unlike the reviews I read here, the staff was very warm and polite. I'm officially her new loyal customer. Prove me wrong! For a local mom pop they get an A.

We live about 35 minutes from this restaurant while we were past a day and tried their food. We have a Chinese food place less than 4 minutes from our house and from all places we have tried (5 places so far) we take the ride here like this in THE BEST FLAVORED CHINESE FOOD IN THE AREA. Come here at least 2-3 times a month.

Really good Chinese food! The folks in here are so nice. We dined in and the service was impeccable. They go above and beyond to assure you are completely satisfied. They certainly don't skimp on portions! The food is freshly cooked and delicious. The atmosphere is quite and quaint.
