Waffle House - Statesville

I have been driving for 12hrs , was staying at hotel across the street figured I would get a hot meal. So I walk in half the store is shut down so went to the end that was open. Low bar was only place open however it had syrup on it in several spots. Placed my order, ask fire waffles dark ask the server did you let her know I wanted dark. She starts loud talking don 't know why I 'm here goes I don 't know my job the customers were looking at her. I then asked could I see your tag to wipe the counter down, I used to work for them in another state. She says you can move down if you want. I informed her then the sun is on my eyes again. She wiped counter. O said thank you. She takes customers their food and says oh that 's right you didn 't want toast, they informed her that was me. Then ii asked could you throw my bottle away for me plz. She says if you worked here before then you know we don 't put outside trash in ours. Got my food asked for some syrup, she decided to start loud talking if she wants to be miserable that 's fine but not going to make me miserable. So I took 1 bite out of all my items and walked out. You don 't talk about your customers in front of them or to other customers. Never again!!!!!!!

I stopped here for a late breakfast and sat down right away. Eric was the cook and he cooked the most amazing three egg ham and cheese omelette with loaded hashbrowns, the best hashbrowns I have ever had in my entire life especially at waffle house. Everything was perfect and he loaded it up with all the ingredients. Omelette was amazing and fluffy and so tasty! I will be back over and over and over again. These guys know what they’re doing and the manager was extremely nice.

Not much worse than an inattentive server and grill staff. Order coffee and ask for sweetener. I tell her Any of the fake stuff . Brought my coffee, waited 5 minutes til she came back by and had to ask for the sweetener again. Ordered bacon, and asked for it, I quote, extra, extra, nuclear crisp Brought me limp bacon. Brought my sirloin... had to wait another 5 minutes to ask for a knife. By then my steak was cold. So when she brought out my eggs, hash browns and toast another 5 minutes later I just got my check, paid, tipped 20% (because I 'm upset, but I 'm not a total jerk) and left. Never touched my eggs (which I ordered over light and got over hard), toast, or hash browns. Never did see how the bacon turned out.

Worst place I ever ate nasty felt unsafe in daytime and cook was terrible and on her phone The waitress Jessica Whitman was the only person that was attentive and respectful. The coffee pots look like they haven’t been washed in months the silver half clean the cups had to be exchanged 2x after seeing dirt and hair I just didn’t want anything else The hash browns were cold bacon burnt and toast so cold the butter was thick I didn’t eat that. Jessica recooked my food personally and it was good. Worst experience ever but I left Jessica a $20 tip just because I could see people tips were not good. I really felt sorry she is a great waitress in a subpar establishment. The patrons are overwhelmingly men that are thugs or people that really make you feel uncomfortable

Great place for a late night meal. The food was great and the staff were all so nice!
