We had one of the best meals in NL here. We got crab and it was soooo good! It was cooked perfectly. The service was great as well, we had lots of questions about the area and our waitress was more than happy to help us out. We even bought a hand stitched quilt made by women from the local united church. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Northern Delight(s) Restaurant was a real find. This was our first experience with snow crab (highly recommended). Others in our group raved about the fish and chips. Accompanying the snow crab was a very good salad, beef soup and 4 small sandwiches. We consider this restaurant a must stop in the area.
We ate dinner here tonight, and although there was a line-up at the door, the wait was only a few minutes. The servers were busy, but friendly and efficient. We had the mussels $(6.95) but they were over-cooked and a bit mushy. The cod chowder was ok, a bit bland. We shared the seafood lovers platter, and it was excellent! The scallops had just the perfect amount of batter that didn't overwhelm the sweet scallops inside. The halibut, salmon, pan-fried cod and deep-fried cod were all excellent. The only thing that could be improved is the shrimp - the batter was ok, but they'd be so much better sauteed in garlic butter. The homefries were great, made even better with a side of gravy. The peas and carrots were ok.
This is our goto place for meals in the area. Excellent value, friendly service, good food. A chance to try local treats like Jig's Dinner, or Fish'n'Brewis. The mussels can't be beat and the seafood is first rate. Don't miss the partridge berry cheesecake. The ladies will take good care of you here! Oh and try the Viking Shiver on a hot day (chocolate shake with screech).
