El Maguey - St. Joseph

The food was very good! Be hungry when visiting! The server was the bartender also, so he was distracted some and did not check on us very often. The restaurant was clean and kept up very well!

I didn’t get his name but one of the workers drove to my house to drop off my doordash order that was never picked up after they closed 10/10 service no one else in st joe would do that, great guy definitely deserves a raise.

The restaurant has a good ambience and serves (in my opinion very good Mexican food), The Food is very great and the restaurant looks very nice.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to go to the El Maguey on South Belt/Commonwealth Court. We just moved here from Texas. My daughter and I had lunch at El Maguey on North Belt a few months back, and it was really, very good food and service. I ordered online takeout from the South Belt/Commonwealth Court by mistake, but I thought it would be pretty much the same. However, we didn't get half of what we ordered and had to call and go back to get the rest. 20 miles later and sitting down to eat, and it was so horrible that the taco salad I had, I couldn't even eat as it tasted chemically, and the meat smelled awful. All of my family were sick after about an hour after eating this food and had stomach problems throughout the night and part of the following day. Beware.

Lacking in flavor sorry but for Mexican food this is lacking!
