The Star - St. Helens

Traditional British pub/restaurant. My latest visit with my wife was a very pleasant experience as what we have come to expect. As always friendly atmosphere and very good food. Plenty of choice from the menu and they have a specials board, which changes every week. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Friendly, efficient staff, happy vibes , what more would you want?

A group of 10 visited last night for a meal,food,service and atmosphere all excellent and the staff are superb,a great night was had,keep up the great work.

My wife and I hosted an evening dinner for her 80th birthday at The Star Rainford last Saturday night. The Star catered for meals for 32 people main meals, starters and puds.and were enjoyed by all our guests. All the meals were served at the same time and all were hot and tasty just as you'd want. The staff on the night were without doubt brilliant down to the boys and girls serving meals and drinks and the front of house ladies. Emma, Lisa, and Chris who were the perfect hostesses all night and are so very friendly and have always been very kind to my wife. The food served was so numerous to mention but as a regular customer at the Star I can say that the food is excellent with a good choice of meals. My daughter with the help of The Star decorated all the tables to create a lovely and warm atmosphere. If anyone is considering were to hold a celebratory dinner this is the place to go food excellent, wine good and very reasonable plus Wainwright's beer. If dinner is not to your taste The Star do a fabulous lunch special with all the food you'd want Fish and Chips', lunch time mixed grill, and wonderful steak pie to mention just a few. All in all a fantastic restaurant run by wonderful people.

This was our first visit here, we’d heard good reviews and the experience didn’t disappoint. Nice atmosphere and all the staff were welcoming, helpful and pleasant. The food we ordered was lovely, well presented, hot and plentiful overall a really nice meal out, thank you.

ALWAYS amazing food, great atmosphere and great staff. Some resturants may be good one visit and poor on another visit. At the Star you never worry as you know they have a great chief who provides brilliant food, every time. THANKYOU xx
