Caffe Nero - St. Helens

Been coming here for years,it's dramatically gone down hill now the place needs a good clean dirty cups left on tables.Floor and tables grubby.The staff very slow can wait upto 15 minutes for a cuppa even on slack days.

Despite its overall 4 out of 5 rating, recent reviews of this place have been mostly 1 out of 5, and it's easy to understand why. Caffè Nero used to be my favorite high street coffee chain, so it's disappointing to see its rapid decline over the past year. Customer reviews once regularly gave it 4 and 5-star ratings, but now it has become quite shabby. The staff seem to have a lackadaisical attitude, with some even wearing scruffy clothing. The seats are dirty, tables take a long time to be cleared, and there are knotted bin bags and mop buckets left out in the shop. I've even had drinks served in dirty mugs. I hope they address these negative issues, as Caffè Nero in St Helens used to be the best coffee shop in town. Customers have started choosing other options, like the four Costas in town. For a comparison, visit the Caffè Nero in Golden Square, Warrington. It's clean, efficient, and the staff are friendly and work well together. Come on, St Helens Caffè Nero, get back to your former glory and show customers the 5-star establishment they used to love.

As a regular in this Nero, I have seen a few staff changed over the years, but it must be said that since Emma has taken over as store manager the store is impeccable. The service is fantastic, the shop is spotlessly clean and the coffee is perfect and beautifully made. She always makes an effort with the customers and gets to know all the regulars, and even if you're not a regular she does her best to make you feel welcome and have a pleasant experience and it would seem the same is rubbing off on the new recruits too which is good to see. Her and Lauren are a credit to the store and it's good to see fresh friendly faces behind the counter too and I look forward to getting to know these people too. I always look forward to my coffee here and will for years to come.

The staff at this restaurant are extremely friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The vibes are very relaxed and enjoyable. However, there was an incident where I went to the restroom and my coffee was mistakenly taken. Other than that, everything was great.

Coffee is still OK, staff always polite and friendly, but the Muffins seem to have shrunk and are dry to the point of stale.
