Kostas der Grieche - St. Gallen

Lovely atmosphere, great food, great host, good times! Ate there for the first time last night and cannot say enough about the place. So full we could not eat all the food Stavros brought out to us! I have to say I have not eaten...at a better restaurant in Switzerland. Stavros treats you like family, suggesting meals he thinks you might like. He speaks so many languages, I could not keep up. We are already talking about going back in the next week or so for a birthday celebration. What great atmosphere. I felt like I should be dancing! Yasou!!

This review is based on my experiences over the past 21 years (that is not a typographical error I first went to Kostas in Jan 1991). Over the years the place has gotten larger (in fact it is about 100 meters up the street...from the original location). Elder son Stavros took over from parents Anna and Kostas a few years ago, but the specialties are every bit as good, if not better, than ever. The naturalized Swiss Ghiatras family originally came from Zakynthos in the 1980s (maybe the 1970s, I don 't recall) but you 'll swear they arrived yesterday. Everything is FRESH: homemade bread, self prepared main courses, desserts, spinach pie. I 've had every single item on the menu at least twice, and I can say all of it is great. Have no reluctance head on in and holler Yasou as you walk in the door. You 'll be treated as family, I am certain. Kali Orexi!

Fantastic hospitality and fantastic food. we come back when we are safe here! Eat and service was excellent.

I talked to a colleague here. we couldn't decide what to order so kostas took care of this detail himself! After everyone had a huge classic giros, we almost couldn't fit through the door on the way out. I don't have much experience. with the Greek cuisine, but that was just delicious!

Very nice Greek eating, authentic and served in generous portions. good service. Lost how is a real character and fun to chat with. beautiful wines from Greece to add the menu.
