Bidra med feedbackWe visited this little cafe for a quick snack before visiting the Abby library of St Gall which is right opposite. It seemed there was only one guy who acted as cashier/barista/waiter.We ordered just a quiche to share between the two of us, not even a drink as we just wanted a quick eat to keep us from being hungry for the visit . We asked if it can be heated up and the answer was yes but it would take around 15-20 mins. As I didn't feel like having a cold quiche I said yes we'd wait. The guy was polite and friendly throughout. The quiche was heated, presented nicely on a plate with a few leaves of green on the side. We even got two sets of cutlery. Food was decent but I really appreciated being treated with thought and care for just the one quiche order.
Small prices and very friendly reception (tables out if it is beautiful.) the ideal place to rest after the visit of the library
We were in St Gallen visiting with a friend and remembered this little cafe opposite the Library where we had stopped previously. Initially we enjoyed a coffee but whilst our friend was visiting the Library, we were taken by their lunch menu so decided to stop a little longer to enjoy a sandwich and a warmed quiche. The food was honest but tasty. The staff friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable. Whilst only a small venue, if you can secure a table, we would recommended it.
It was a freezing foggy New Year's Day in St Gallen. We needed some lunch but most places were closed. We were about to visit the Bibliothek when we spotted the Kloster Bistro was open. This is a small cafe style venue right opposite the entrance to the Bibliothek. The staff were very welcoming and the nice warm soup and coffee was perfect. Delicious!
The soup was homemade (by that I mean excellent) and generous, the jasmine tea was superbly aromatic (Länggass brand.) A good place for a pick-me-up after visiting the abbey library. The sandwiches and cakes also looked good.
