Recently taken back over after being shut for a good while. Fantastic to see this little destination pub back open, the heart of the village. Brilliant spot and very welcoming new landlords, they create a great atmosphere and are just lovely. Pleasant company in the pub, fantastic selection of beers and a great selection of food on the menu. I will return and will recommend highly for the summer. Thank you
Called today, 28 April 2022, after a long walk for a late lunch. We were made welcome by Katrina and were soon served drinks and ordered our food. There is a very pleasant and relaxing refurbished seating area. The meals were very tasty I can recommend the fish pie as one of the best I have eaten. Well worth visiting The Bull at Burrough Green if you are in the area.
We were hesitant about eating at The Bull because they had decided against taking part in the government’s ‘Eat out to help out’ scheme but the menu attracted us and as it was the final night of our holiday in the Cambridge area we decided to splash out and we were extremely glad that we ‘took the plunge’. The food was excellent. All made at home and cooked to her Mum’s recipes, Katrina, the landlady, did a wonderful job. Her pies are filled to the brim with tender meat or chicken and not at all skimped. We used to own our own pub where all our food was home prepared so we really did appreciate the quality and hard work that went into the preparation of Katrina’s food. Both she and Dareth, her excellent front of house barman, were friendly and chatty and, not forgetting Jack the pub’s lovely Cocker Spaniel, all made for a very enjoyable final evening to our holiday. We ate out every evening, eleven of them, and there was only one other restaurant with food that we rated as highly as The Bull so thank you Katrina, Dareth and Jack for making us so welcome and feeding us so well.
My friend and I called at this pub on a Thursday lunchtime at around 12.30. It was packed. We were asked if we had booked, and when we said no, the member of staff serving said she was very sorry they had had an influx of 25 people and they would be unable to serve us. We realised this was our own fault for not reserving a table. When she saw us looking crestfallen, she said 'If you don 't mind waiting a bit, I 'll squeeze you in. ' They did. We were served by 1.00 with lovely food, and the staff, though very busy, were charming. Thank you we will come again and we 'll book ahead this time! It is hard for country pubs like this to plan because during the week they may only get one or two people wanting food. The menu was full and varied. Well done.
