Bidra med feedbackVery friendly place, accommodating on food requests. covid spacing is good. didnt have enough room for the kitchen sink. maybe next time.
My family and I love Colonial cafe, just not this location. More often than not when we go to this location, something is wrong. Save yourself any trouble and drive a little further to the one on Main Street. We ordered online for pickup. The order we received was incomplete, so my husband had to drive back to get the missing items. The food itself is usually good, but this time there was a hair in one of the pancakes. Like I said, just go to the other Colonial cafe in St Charles. It is a better experience. The staff is a lot friendlier too.
Really just an excellent breakfast restaurant. Absolutely quick and pleasant service and the food is excellent. They have a huge variety for any breakfast taste.
Waitress spoke fast and had little patience. 5 star rating for environment and food. Waitress a 2 star.
I came into Colonial this morning for breakfast (my first time for breakfast and I can say that my experience was okay. I was seated quickly, and my waiter was attentive and very, very fast. My food came out in a great amount of time but beyond the toast (sourdough my meal was...okay. I ordered a ham, cheese and bacon omelette and the hash browns were very good, and the omelette itself good also, the cheese tasted very rubbery, like that fake cheese from a can kind, which was a deep contrast to the ham and bacon, which was very good. I've lived and made my way through the South and grits are one of the things I will jump on getting when I see them on a menu (I love, love love, grits. I bet these were stored in a metal bowl they tasted extremely metallic, and extremely salty. I had to add pepper for any kind of flavor and still, I couldn't. They were done well though, smooth, creamy, buttery, but hold back just a little bit on the salt and put them in a plastic container. Grits will often try to swallow up other flavors. The atmosphere is fast, and laid back. This place is MADE for families, especially with small children. The cow in the front is a cool touch and would be good for a photo op with your kid, or the birthday girl/boy. Service is excellent and very attentive. The decor is what you would expect from an ice cream parlor, but it NEEDS a very, very thorough deep cleaning, especially the walls and carpet. While I might have not had a great experience with breakfast, I can say from experience that their lunch menu is pretty good. What makes it a 3 star rating is the contrast, and the need for a deep clean. Other than that, I would say give it a try especially if you have small beings.
