Bidra med feedbackCome here for lunch often as I work a block away. Normally the food is pretty decent. Often times there is only one person working, struggling to pump out meals for the 10 patrons waiting. Today again, only one poor guy working and my food was absolutely terrible. Fries were burned to a crisp. Inedible as they turned to dust the moment you bite down. Burger was burned, bun was burned. Inedible meal today. This place needs to hire more staff, until then I won’t be back unfortunately. It’s tough to throw away $25 on a meal you can’t eat.
First time trying this place. Atmosphere is nothing much, looks like so many other strip mall wing and taco joints, however the service was really good. Friendly, helpful, and cheerful, as well as effective. Jose actually cares about whether you enjoy your food and was great at ensuring the meal was completely gluten-free.The food is also very good. The beans are excellent, and I do not like most BBQ joints' beans. The fries are homemade, and the corn bread is moist and tasty. They even brought me some maple syrup for it. Usually, I use honey, but as it turns out, maples syrup is actually a great alternative.Had the brisket, a nice combination of lean meat from the flat and fattier meat from the point. Both cuts were tender and moist, but we would prefer a more pronounced smoke flavour. This one is a little to genteel for true Texas Q. I think a little mesquite mixed in with what seemed like oak or cherry as the main wood could develop the smoke flavour. The ribs were very good, moist, tender, and have a good flavour. We thought the value for money spent was very good. Super for 2, including a beer, for under 50 bucks is pretty hard to do these days. Will definitely go back.
I've been to Texas and had top notch BBQ there. Darcy’s Smokehouse is better. Great people, local ingredients, and a local vibe. We need more of these places in St. Albert. Go here!!
We were excited to try Darcy's Smokehouse based on the reviews, and we were fans of Links previously. Unfortunately, the BBQ itself let us down. We ordered a whole pound of brisket and it was all fatty brisket, not a single slice from the flat, which was disappointing. The brisket did not have any smoke or much flavour at all. We did not finish it.The side ribs tasted better, but they were overcooked and bordering on dry. The sauce was decent and the smoke flavour came through, but still not what you want from a BBQ rib.The pulled pork sandwich was just OK. The pork itself was dry and bland. The slaw was decent, and so was the bun.The fries (regular and garlic) were the best part of the meal, served the same way as Links before. Overall, the meal was disappointing.
Omg!! Just all around awesome!! Excellent service , had working staff, amazing flavor nice size portions , just so yummy was a great experience!
