Waterend Barn Restaurant - St Albans

I visited this restaurant a few times while catching up with friends in St Albans. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the barn side of the pub, but we found it to be quite hot inside. Mrs. C had to wipe down our table, which seemed overdue for a good clean. The beers were tasty and reasonably priced, and our food arrived promptly. We ordered a BBQ burger (okay), roasted vegetable pizza (okay), margarita pizza (okay), and 5 bean chili (not so good). The chili had a strange sweet flavor and the rice was clumpy and overcooked. We also experienced long waits at the bar, but at least the toilets were easily accessible on the ground floor.

This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. It was uncomfortably hot inside and I waited over 30 minutes to even get a drink. I will definitely not be returning.

I was denied breakfast once again for being late to the restaurant. The first time it happened, I was there with my son and I understood their decision. Today, I arrived at 11:58 and no one was taking orders. When the young lady finally arrived, she informed me that breakfast service had ended. I showed her my phone to prove that it was exactly 12:00 and explained that I had arrived earlier, but she didn't seem to care. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and a young man who seemed uninterested in my concerns arrived. When I turned my back, I could hear them laughing. It became clear that the staff did not value their customers, and their behavior was disrespectful. This experience left me feeling disappointed. Saint Albans, Herts, July 30th, 12:00pm.

Breakfast looked like it had been dug up from 1997 and reheated. Toast was alright , as were the drinks , staff were pleasant enough and nice seating area outside.

Very impressive building, but staff very dozy. Takes ages to get served even when pub half empty. Food ok, but not impressive
