The Silver Cup - St Albans

Lovely chilled lunch as a couple sharing very good quality sharing plates. A great value NZ Sauvignon Blanc completed a perfect relaxed Friday lunch. It’s definitely our go to local restaurant when we want something a bit different and special. Highly recommend.

Great to finally have an aspiring Michelin quality restaurant in Harpenden walking distance! We had the seven course tasting menu and is was really lovely. We also took the optional wine flight, which was decent quality and generous pouring. The menu is seasonal so although you have no selection it changes regularly and there are also themed nights. The service was very friendly and efficient, so coupled with the excellent food this was a really good experience. Obviously this is a price point above other local places £70 for the set menu, £50 for the wine flight it is justified given the quality. Can highly recommend

I recently visited The Silver Cup for steak night and unfortunately, I was disappointed. They had run out of the ribeye steak, leaving us with only one T-bone option when we had hoped for two. The remaining steaks were overcooked, especially the T-bone. While the overall experience was still pleasant due to the nice staff and ambiance, I was expecting more from a highly regarded restaurant like The Silver Cup. I hope to return in the future and try the set menu instead, hoping for better luck with availability and quality of food.

We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious 7-course tasting menu at this restaurant. Visiting with friends for a catch-up, we were all impressed by the quality and creativity of the dishes. Each course was a delight and we would highly recommend it. The price for the tasting menu is great and the wine selection is also good value. We will definitely be returning in the future!
