Bidra med feedbackFor the first time we have lunch in the j g family restaurant and catering in spartanburg. we buy fresh fish and seafood next door frequent and always saw people happy to carry out the food from this restaurant. the reviews were good, so I thought we would give them a try. betty took our order, we sat and our food arrived soon. Chef johnny foster, owner and chef came to welcome us in his restaurant. he told us how he worked 30 years ago as a dishwasher in the restaurant and worked his way to the cook and owner. beautiful, inviting and very impressive herr! what was impressive was his eating. I ordered the fried chicken breast, potatoes, mac n cheese and green beans. (we wanted to try as much as possible.) my man ordered the hamburger steak with saautiert, gravy, mais, fried okra . it was so delicious. the fried chicken was very humid and the skin was so crispy and tasteful. the best fried huh I ever had. the fried okra was dying! the kartoffels were so delicious, I don't order any serious, but I'm glad I did. I couldn't get enough of it. Oh, my God was good! the mac n cheese was loaded with uoey gooey incredible cheese, should it be cheese n mac! my man loved his hamburger steak with exactly the right amount of tasteful engraving. great house style, soul eat cooking at its best. Chef johnny knows what to do and he does it right. everyone who came to the restaurant was so nice and friendly. we enjoyed it. we loved meeting chef johnny and betty. we didn't get the names of the other employees we saw. we had no chance to meet glenda. they will be immediately family when they feed in the j g family restaurant. I could imagine that we all sit together on a table and enjoy great food and entertainment together. highly recommended. it is right! order extra kartoffels and gravy and tell them that barbara sent them! good!
Where do I start? my wife and I had the pleasure of eating here yesterday. I can honestly say that this without doubt the most welcomed we ever felt in any restaurant, from the moment we entered that we felt like family....and not only by the employees, but also by the other customers. Now we talk about eating! Just amazing, I had the ribs with potato salad, green beans and banana pudding, while my wife had the chopped steak with fried okra, kartoffels and bananenpudding. the whole food was excellent and at a price that makes them take a double, no possibility we have all that with a few sweet tees for $22 (including control) why we did! our only regret is that we do not live in spartanburg, but I can assure them that we will make the trip of johnson city again!
Very good food and friendly atmosphere. the owner and his son met, and he thanked us for stopping. we had fried chicken (brust,) green beans, mac and cheese, kartoffel salad, roasted okra, kartoffels and salmon patties! everything was delicious. it is one of those places where you should not judge from the outside, because you are treated like family in the inner and they do not judge you. even the customers told us we have a wonderful day! try them out and keep these small businesses in business!
This place is a hidden gem. this soul-food restaurant was the best... Amüsante eat good portions. amazing personal. the bananenpudding. delicious! we will see
Babbyyy! I didn’t even make it out the parking lot. Fried pork chops, Mac n chz, yams, collard greens was amazing! New to Inman area, this was the closest soul food I could find without driving all the way to Greenville. Whew! I’ll be back.. I gotta try out the whole menu. Turkey wings , with rice gravy next. Idk if it’s me or the baby talking , currently 8 months pregnant. All I’ll say is Get In Here order for pick up, especially on a Sunday. First thing everybody wants is a hot plate after church.. a wait is to be expected if you just walk in any business on a SUNDAY .
