Bidra med feedbackExcellent food, we had oysters, scallop soup, steak and the pig all of it was delicious and great selection of beer and wine. Would definitely recommend.
After a sorry experience at Sips, just down the street, we found Fiddler's Green. Even through it was past closing time, the owner invited us in, and the bartender treated us very well. This was such a positive experience that we brought a party of ten back for dinner the next night. Drinks are great, the food was very good, and the attitude of the servers was fantastic. Their surf turf is wonderful, though the roast pig could use a little more flavor. Do leave room for an interesting dessert! Highly recommended.
Such great service... Very delicious food... Silent romantic place
Fiddler 's Green is one of the nicest restaurants on Mount Desert Island ME. Located in the quiet fishing village of Southwest Harbor it offers a chance to get away from the bustle of Bar Harbor during tourist season. The menu changes regularly and uses, as much as possible, locally sources meats, seafood, and produce. Chef Derek Wilbur and his wife and co-owner Sarah O 'Neil provide a fine dining experience in a quiet, cozy atmosphere at not inexpensive but reasonable prices. Local scallops are pan seared in coconut oil and served with a spicy (but not too) coconut cream sauce. Lobster is served a variety of ways including a lobster stuffed filet. Deserts are made in house and are worth leaving room for. They offer a variety of local beers, an extensive collection of bottled beers from around the world, as well as an unfiltered, unpasteurized beer straight from the cask. The wine list is equally diverse and one can find a perfect pairing of either beer or wine with any menu offering. Fiddler 's Green is a can 't miss dining experience.
Smart, friendly, local staff who love their regulars and welcome modern day rusticators . Intelligent beer pairing (a first for me, but it really was smart and delicious). Great beer and wine selection and a great menu filled with local ingredients I had the happy pork and was delighted!
