Bidra med feedbackAnother visit to this historic hostel with a top 100 battery from the famous grouse. we have visited this facility several times and it has never disappointed us. our last visit was a Sunday dinner that was booked in advance, one must guarantee a table, as it is generally busy. the menu that I must certainly change occasionally was similar to the previous visit. a good selection of healthy foods, nothing imaginative or ordinary. our price included 2 appetizers, 3 main courses and 1 sweet, with 3 drinks. the costs were not exorbitant, even with the current inflation rate. the it range was full so no expectation of fast service. but once the personal sat attentive and very pleasant. our beverage order was quickly taken as our order for appetizers and main courses. the only part to a main meal was the fish cake, which was very tasty was very hard on sauce and easy on fish. everything else was before place. the sweet, 2 draws ice (as we have ordered) took a considerable time to get to the table. as I said it was very busy. all in all a satisfactory and pleasant visit.
Went on a recommendation and it was well worth it. A lovely historic pub with inside and outside tables serving good beers and really good food. Staff were great and it's a well oiled machine. It's a pub that's always busy so safer to book as we did. Prices were decent considering the high quality of products and service and everyone looked genuinely happy to help. One comment on the history of the pub. It's part of the story of the worst disaster in the history of the RNLI when it was used as a morgue for some of the 27 lifeboat men who lost their lives trying to save a stricken ship's crew. Their story is really well told in various ways inside the pub but is second billing in the blue plaque outside. Frank Sinatra's visit tops the bill. ?
First class service from the moment you sit at your table. Great roast dinner one had Roast beef the other had Roast pork. Piping hot food good choice of veg. Decent pint of guest beer, really enjoyable meal good value.
Called in with our 5 year old grandson on Saturday, staff very welcoming and friendly. Spotlessly clean, great inexpensive menu, lots of dishes to choose from, Food was delicious. Will definitely return.
The pub was bustling, with many tables reserved, but we managed to find a spot to sit. A friendly server even went out of his way to get me a nice ale. The menu was impressive, offering a wide range of choices. Even without a reservation, we could still place our food orders, and the service was exceptional – the staff behind the bar were fantastic and had a great sense of humor. To top off our meal, we indulged in their sticky toffee pudding served with custard, which was absolutely divine! I highly recommend this place and want to extend a big thank you to all the staff for a wonderful dining experience, especially the pudding. I hope to return before we leave and try the chocolate fudge cake. If not, I’ll just have to come back later in the year!
