Brooklands Tavern - SOUTHERN RIVER

Was in this tavern in the last 10 years. A hit and miss here with services and food. There are times when their meals and meat are so perfectly cooked on the right texture, tenderness and taste, while other times meat would be hard and dry. Most visits are very disappointing, no smile, not so friendly but very abrupt, while only a minority of staff was friendly and helpful. On our last visit Dez 2022 Porterhouse Steak was very hard, but on ribs were so juicy and tender and cooked to perfection and seafood was also delicious. The staff of the counter looked very grim, outpatient and unfriendly, which was not very... I think she's also the manager at the venue. However, one of the floor waitress (Asia Girl) was so beautiful and friendly, giving a smile, even as she passed.

No matter how good the food is when your culinary experience is 60sec ruined after you go in the door to say there is a new means to order by app. You need to scan a QR code to display the menu and your...Order. No discussion with employees about what is on the menu or what special features they have. If your meal is schoddy... too bad cos you have to pay for now. No talk with the cook to discuss and resolve the matter. It turns into nothing more than an expensive fast food experience with waiting staff. It could be the way of the future, but it really sucks.

Service was great, food was cold and stable. A caesar salad and croutons were chewing and dressing didn't taste right. Chips came loaded with cheese and bacon and we're cold. Menu needs a refreshment! Will not be back soon

We arrived at 5.50 last night hoping to have their Steak Special. Already sold from Scotch Filet and the Rump Steak was hard, chew and really NOT nice. We had to wait 30 minutes to get our food. Only the salvation of grace is that they eat the alcohol and the Rump Steak meal

I have visited this restaurant for lunch about 4 times in the last 6 months. My friends who have also dined here have been very impressed with the delicious and generously portioned meals. The staff are friendly and there is a special meal deal for seniors, making it good value. It can get busy even on weekdays, so I recommend making a reservation.
