Bidra med feedbackGreat spot just off of Route 9. I only had the hot dogs so the review is solely on that product which I thought was stellar. What I like about this spot is that they offer a standard yellow mustard as well as a spicy brown. So many times we 're forced to consume only one option of mustard. I know the mustard doesn 't make the dog but it can detract from it. The dog itself is s Kayem NC (natural casing). These provide a nice snap when bitten into. These are cooked on a flattop until a slight char develops....more flavor. I ordered a NY Dog (dog+onions+sauerkraut) which was probably in the top 10 hot dogs I 've had over the past couple of years (trust me that 's easily about 50+ establishments up down the East Coast and as far west as Chicago). The key is that they cut the onions to the same size as the sauerkraut which allows for a more linear cook on the flat top. This produces a slight char to the kraut/onion topping....again adding more flavor. The roll is a NE style that 's toasted on the flat top in a generous amount of butter. I topped this off with some spicy brown mustard. I washed all of this down with a red cupped beverage that I just happened to have in the car. They do have real Coke in addition to fountain drinks. The end result is a delicious mixture which I am excited to repeat the next time I 'm out that way. Thank you to the owners for putting some real thought into your offerings....your efforts are reflected in the lines waiting for your food.
Excellent chili dog with home made chili. one complaint on good chili is they should drain it a little for the hot dogs.
Nice lunch truck with a lot to choose from. Hot dogs, burgers, etc. You can't beat the price for a generously portioned bite to eat. Plenty of parking, nice people running it, and really clean picnic tables/area to enjoy your lunch. I had 2 hotdogs and a drink for $5. The buns were toasted and buttered and delicious. Great to have something like this in the area. I'll be back!
They were closed at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 27th. Does anyone know if the hours listed on this site are accurate?
My sister and I had lunch at the recession stand today. Unfortunately, it’s no longer called Fat Mac's; it’s now Beano. The menu was underwhelming compared to before. While the hot dogs were still decent, the buns weren't toasted and buttered like they used to be. Sadly, the prices appear to have increased as well. Where have the delicious poutine and the amazing hot dogs that everyone used to rave about gone? We want Mac back!
